Having a family Physician is a privilege. If you have a family Physician, we encourage you to seek treatment from them before contacting our clinic as the majority of the patients in our care do not have a family physician and have no other option than to access a walk-in clinic for their medical care. If your family Physician is unable to provide you with an appointment, please email us and we will book you the next available appointment.
Although we are unable to provide you with a 'Family Physician' we are happy to provide a 'home base' for you and your family's medical needs until you are successful in finding a family Physician.
If you have a family Physician we encourage you to contact them first to book an appointment with them prior to calling our clinic.
We offer in-person appointments to patients who registered with us between April 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.
We are able to treat UTI's, strep throats, ear syringes, drivers and insurance exams in-person on a limited basis. Please enquire about one of these appointments.
We are happy to provide telephone appointments for prescription renewals to patients who were not previously registered.

Registered Nurse who is able to assist you with medical questions and we will direct you to call 811 if we feel your call may benefit from that service so we can keep our lines for appointment bookings only. 811 also has access to a dietician and a Pharmacist who will be available to answer questions regarding diet and your prescription medications.
We know that your medical needs don't always allow for a pre-planned appointment however, we recommend booking an appointment in advance as our same day availability is limited to sudden unexpected urgent medical conditions such as sick children, infections, sprains/strains and urinary tract infections and Physician availability.
Each appointment, whether it is an in-person or a phone appointment, is 10 minutes in length and is meant to address one medical condition and a prescription renewal.
If you have multiple medical concerns, they are best addressed in multiple separate 10 minute appointments and we are happy to pre-arrange those appointments for you.
10 minutes goes by quickly so please do your best to communicate your most immediate concern at the time of your visit.

After your visit, your Physician faxes your prescription to your Pharmacy via a secure fax system which processes faxes in a queue and may take up to 2 hours to reach your Pharmacy.
If you require your prescription immediately, you are welcome to pick it up in-person at the clinic. You will need to provide photo ID for this.
We are unable to give your prescription to anyone other than the patient unless prior arrangments have been made.
If you find that you have run out of your prescription, your pharmacist may be able to provide you with a small supply of your medication on an emergency basis until you are able to have an appointment with a Physician.
We do not prescribe opioids or benzodiazepine medications.
It is recommended that you contact your Pharmacist to confirm receipt of your prescription and enquire as to when it will be ready for you to pick up.
If you have multiple prescriptions and only need to fill a few of them, it is important that you contact your Pharmacist to let them know which ones you want and which ones can wait. Your help with this is greatly appreciated by your Pharmacy team who are experiencing staff shortages and a backlog of prescriptions.
Test results are sent to our clinic only if a Doctor from our clinic has ordered the test. You may request your results to be sent to our clinic if you are in hospital or have tests ordered by another Physician. Keep in mind that if we do not have you as a registered clinic, any results received for you will be returned to the sender or shredded.

If you would like to request a copy of your medical record, or if you would like us to transfer your file to another doctor/clinic, please see our front desk or advise your doctor. Fees may apply to copies or transfers of medical records.

Appointments are booked for 10 minutes per patient. Sometimes patients come in with a problem that is not forseen or manageable in the 10 minutes that was scheduled for them. Some patients may come in feeling a bit ill but are diagnosed with an unexpected dangerous condition while they are seeing the Physician and we may have to stay with the patient until the ambulance arrives. Sometimes we have to tell a patient that they have cancer and we spend more time with them. Physicians take phone calls from specialists, nursing homes and hospitals in between seeing patients and that may cause a delay as well. Doctors do not take any breaks during their day, working long after the clinic closes, doing paperwork, organizing referrals, consulting with specialists, pharmacists and allied healthcare providers. The staff are not responsible when the Physician is running late and you should not take out your frustrations on them. The lateness is a direct result of unexpected urgencies that happen to patients that we are caring for throughout the day.
If you have or suspect you have a UTI please come into the clinic and we will perform a test and connect you with the next available Physician. You do not need to book an appointment for a UTI, we will treat you right away.
We do not perform Covid Tests on patients. Please visit Island Health's Website for information on how to access a Covid Test.
In order for the Doctor to renew any medications, they need to review your chart first. If you are on a medication that may cause damage to parts of your body, regular blood work may need to be performed and the Doctor has to review your chart and your blood tests before safely prescribing medication. If your prescription is for blood pressure pills, the Doctor needs to review your home blood pressure readings and based on those readings, your medication may need to be adjusted. Every prescription renewal needs an appointment with the Doctor.
